About the Artist

I'm Dana, a watercolor artist with a love for nature and stories🌿. Specializing in architectural, animal, floral, and figure portraits, my work aims to capture memories and emotions on paper. Inspired by 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Wild Garden Art is a realm where lasting memories are made 🪄. As I look to the future, I'm planning to expand into original art and prints and offer a bit more of my personal style into my work!

In 2019, I stumbled into watercolor portraits. Inspired by an artist I found on Instagram, I saw these lovely house portraits and thought, "I can probably do that!" and went on to make my family the test subjects for custom watercolor Christmas gifts 😂. Without really meaning to, I found something I actually loved doing!

Then 2020 hit, and let's just say it was a "pivot year." I dove into commissions and pet portraits, trying to balance creativity and sanity. For a hot minute (or a few years…), I got sucked back into the corporate vortex, but let's not dwell on that.

Recently, I said 'screw it' and chose to pursue art full-time, partly fueled by passion and partly by my chronic illness making office life less than ideal. These days, you'll find me at a local gift and plant shop when I'm not wrestling with brushes and pigments. I'm reigniting my artistic flame and navigating life's weird plot twists one painting at a time 🖌️.

The next chapter for me is a deep dive into self-discovery and artistry. I'm not just making art; I'm figuring out what fulfills me and how I can contribute something worthwhile. It's a journey of experimentation and honing my craft.

So, thanks for joining me! Together, we'll navigate this creative landscape, enriching our lives and our spaces along the way.
